Neighbourhood Plan Review
The Linby Neighbourhood Plan was ‘made’ in March 2019. Linby Parish Council has decided to update the Neighbourhood Plan.  The Plan will still cover the entire Parish and there will be a later opportunity to comment on the entire Plan at the formal 6-week Regulation-14 stage later this year.

Linby Neighbourhood Plan
This Neighbourhood Plan will guide the future development of the Parish. The Plan seeks to positively address climate change, support the rural economy, protect the rural and natural landscape, encourage heritage-led regeneration, support housing to meet local need.

Policy Overview
There are 6 themes and policies are grouped within these which includes:

Housing
Policy LRD1: Residential Development. Setting clear parameters for infill development and redevelopment as well as informing the type and mix of homes needed.

Employment and Community
Policy LEC1: Employment. This seeks to support the diversity of community services and employment provision.
Policy LEC2: Community Facilities. This seeks to protect and support the diversity of community facilities.
Local Green Space
Policy LGS1: Local Green Space. The Plan seeks to retain the 12 designated Local Green Spaces.
Design and Character
Policy LDC1: Design. Promoting high quality and green design.
Policy LDC2: Character. Protecting and enhancing the character of the rural parish and its locally distinctive features, including the Linby Docks.
Policy LDC3: Heritage. Supporting sensitive refurbishment and re-use of heritage assets, protecting the historic natural landscape and heritage assets, including the locally significant ‘Linby stone walls’.
Environment
Policy LEN1: Natural Environment. Protecting and enhancing key natural landscape features and habitats.
Policy LEN2: Surface Water. Setting requirements for managing surface water and flood risk.

Infrastructure
Policy LIN: Transport and Movement. Promoting and supporting active travel.
